A few weeks ago he was helping out at a fish fry and playing with his kids. Now, John Tomkins is charged with being “The Bishop,” the person federal authorities say mailed threatening letters and pipe bombs to financial institutions.
Tomkins, 42, of Dubuque, was arrested on his way to work Wednesday morning. He was whisked away to Chicago, where he appeared in court on charges of mailing a threatening communication with intent to extort and one count of possession of an unregistered explosive device.
Do you think he is dangerous? Do you think he needs to be locked in a mental institution or drugged, or was this a crime that should and will be treated like a crime, Breggin was right about Cho, why didn’t we protect his rights too, even if it meant charging him criminally and removing him from the situation? Oh I know the treatment is the punishment, isn’t it?
“This has nothing to do with personality (or race), but is a simple question, sadly, of body count.”
To me what this has to do with is perception, oppression, and techniques, and why we “treat” some people as a form of punishment or control and why we let others have freedom and a life and then when they do something wrong take them to court to a trial.
A person when identified as “perhaps” a threat, whether true or not, that gets into the mental health system is not given a trial, but a life sentence or a brain disease.
I don’t have to like everyone and everyone does not have to like me in fact no one really has to like me as long as I do not break the law or committ a crime I should not be in fear of any punishment. It is not constitutional.

This man WAS well-liked because he lived a normal, seemingly happy life until the incidents. He built friendships and had a family.
Cho, on the other hand, had no friends and had been rude, quiet and/or threatening to everyone he ever met.
