We Are About to Vote on Gaming in My County?

Question by polonium-210: We are about to vote on Gaming in my county?
I live in Kansas City, Kansas and we are voting weather to allow Gambling / Gaming in our county… Kansas City, Missouri, which is right accross the River already has casino’s (River Boats) and everyone from Kansas Goes over there to play…

I am undecided on this issue, but want to vote.. Can you help me decide which would be best?

1. Gambling would bring tax revenues in like Tax Relief, Education, Public saftey and more.
Our county is one of the poorest in the state and we have the Highest taxes to go along with it. We have a higher crime rate, higher unemployment and lower education standards.

But

2. The down fall would be, contributing to the sickness that people have for the industry (gambling addicts), it could bring in other problems, Even more crime, other adult industries will fight to place businesses in our community, Just a lot of unwelcomed company in our state and community..

What would you vote??? Yes or No… And why? Thanks for your opinons
Chi Guy: True, this is very true… Unfortunately I live in a “Blue” county (very democratic) which is inside of a “Red state”… Gambling is against all my beliefs and I won’t even buy lottery tickets. That’s why when I think I’m going to vote yes for the revenu, I always stop and tell myself how much SIN is going come along with the good of it.

No.

Red states say they represent Christian values. I believe in putting actions to words. If money-by-all-means is what people in Kansas stand for, than by all means vote yes. If gambling contradicts the values you represent, than vote no.

This poster has often stated that it is the Red States that have turned, full fledged, to gambling to help their economies while calling liberals sinners, anti-God and such.

If republicans are as fiscally correct (leadership) as they claim, Red State economies should be booming without the need for gambling to help there economy flourish.

Nothing against you personally in the least…
