I know that programs like these are really costly. What about those people who really want to change but just can’t stop because of withdrawal symptoms and can’t afford to have themselves rehabilitated at treatment centers? Is there a solution to this problem?

Yes it is. 1. What are Suboxone and Subutex?

Subutex and Suboxone are medications approved for the treatment of opiate dependence. Both medicines contain the active ingredient, buprenorphine hydrochloride, which works to reduce the symptoms of opiate dependence.

2. Why did the FDA approve two medications?

Subutex contains only buprenorphine hydrochloride. This formulation was developed as the initial product. The second medication, Suboxone contains an additional ingredient called naloxone to guard against misuse.

Subutex is given during the first few days of treatment, while Suboxone is used during the maintenance phase of treatment.

In Texas we do not have treatment cemters we have jails.

That actually depends on the type of rehab treatment you require. It can range any where from being Free to thousands of dollars. An example would be if you get involved with a drug program through the social services department and are unable to pay for treatment.. you may be eligible for free participation. However if it’s treatment somewhere like the Betty Ford clinic you can expect to pay a few thouusand more because it’s a facility that mostly caters to the “well to do” in society.
