Are There Meetings for Drug Users Family Members???

Question by T.Mills: Are there meetings for drug users family members???
My fiancee just went into rehab today. I feel extremelly weak and lost right now. Of course me and his family are giving him all the support needed, and he wishes to get well, but I am going thru a very tough time at the moment, and I’d like to know if there are meetings for people going thru the same thing as me, in the NY area. Thank you.

Drug Addiction?

Question by ? Rachel The Great ?: Drug Addiction?
I have a brother who is 23 years old. He has had an addiction to drugs since he was 16 years old and he is going to move to chicago in a month or so to “change his life”. However, prior to leaving Florida, he has been experimenting with drugs that he has been having a problem with since he was 16. Is this in any way going to make him rehabilitate before he moves? I am worried about him. Do you have any suggestions? What should I do? I’ve approached the subject but I don’t think I am getting through 🙁 .
And it’s not like he is just smoking pot, he goes on cocaine binges and looses 500 dollars in one night because of it.

Natural Remedies for Brain Damage After Drug Abuse?

Question by Liza Shevchuk: Natural Remedies For Brain Damage After Drug Abuse?
My older brother has done many drugs from about 16-21. Its been a year since his last use, and he’s been having some serious problems. He has high anxiety and he’s been having frequent episodes of “weird” (as he calls it) feelings. He doesn’t label it as feeling sick. During these episodes he feels jittery, emotional (even cry’s sometimes) out of control, his heart rate goes up. This also causes him to have insomnia. Maybe they’re panic attacks, but the thing is, what triggers it? This occurs randomly on a normal day. We believe its typical withdrawal symptoms, because he abused quite a few drugs. (Marijuana, cigarettes, ecstasy, crystal meth, shrooms, hookah, cocaine, inhalants, “uppers” (as he calls them))
He has gone to see his doctor several times to get treatment, and his doctor said he has migraines.
-____-
He prescribed him anti depressants and that didn’t help my brother AT ALL.
He does this herbal drop treatment (echinacea, other oils, etc) That help him sleep.
Now we’re trying to find him herbal remedies that would help repair his brain damage from all of the abuse he has done to it.
Thank you very much.

Is There Such Thing as a Depression Rehab for Teens?

Question by Rain: Is there such thing as a depression rehab for teens?
Is there such place where you can meet other depressed teens and do theorpy excersises in a clinic or building of some sort? Kind of like a drug rehab but dealing with depression? I think I have depression and I don’t think a therapist would do anything. I have begun to often think of suicide. I have not attempted it yet, but I think of how I can go through. I heard mediciene only does more damage and doesn’t help depression. I don’t believe in therapists either. I tried smoking marijuana several times and became heavy for a short period. I often thought of trying heavier stuff. I recently have stopped, but my depression just keeps dragging me lower. So are there facilities I can go and get help? Are they daily facilities or are they places where you stay the nights there?

In Ohio, What Can You Do if You’re Depressed and Can’t Afford Treatment?

Question by Fred: In Ohio, What can you do if you’re depressed and can’t afford treatment?
I feel like I’m hanging on by a thread. I had a nervous breakdown on my kids yesterday morning (which I hate myself for). I need help but I don’t have any $ $ for meds or threapists.

My spouse and I work opposite schedules. I need help.
