Answer by ashicare4u
Many teenagers will have some experience with alcohol and other drugs. In fact, drug use among adolescents is much more common than parents realize. About one in six persons between the ages of 13 to 17 years old has used marijuana. Nearly two-thirds of all American young people try an illegal drug before they finish high school. Alcohol and nicotine (in cigarettes) are the most commonly used drugs by teenagers. Teenagers who smoke and drink during their early teens are the ones most likely to begin to use other illegal drugs later.

If Illegal Drugs Were Taxed….?

Question by Matt: If illegal drugs were taxed….?
like alcohol and tobacco, how much would it net the Federal government and would that be enough to fund all the drug treatment/prevention programs? Would drug use go up or down?

Best answer:

Answer by quizzard123
it would go way up, since many people who would otherwise use do not due to fear of arrest.

Nobody can say what taxation of illegal drugs would produce, since nobody knows the price or the tax rate.

Perscription Drug Addiction?

Question by Mark O: Perscription Drug Addiction?
How do you tell if someone has a prescription drug addiction? Is it similar to an illegal drug addiction? I have a loved one who I am very concerned about. They take prescription drugs for medical purposes. But they affect them the same way that illegal drugs affect others. They take 35 every day. They are a nurse. They can give a medical justification for every one of them. But the way they react at different times makes me wonder. Their emotions go up and down. They have the same reactions as a drug addict. Can someone give some advice on helping my loved one.

I’m at a Loss as to How to Find Drug Rehabs in Hempstead, Texas. Help?

Question by daniella s: I’m at a loss as to how to find drug rehabs in Hempstead, Texas. Help?
I’ve never been good at finding places. Not even when I’ve got a map. But I really need to do this for a very dear friend of mine. We’ve been close since childhood, and I never expected that there would come a time when she would get herself involved with people who are doing drugs. Now she’s drug addicted as well. Though she has pushed me away before, it was still me that she turned to when she realized that she’ll get nothing good from illegal drugs. I really want to help her find drug rehabs. How will I do this?

No, becoming a strung out, tooth losing, lying and thieving tweaker is strictly the cause of meth itself. Having your brain fried is strictly the cause of acid, heroin junkies, you get it. The bad effects are the reason they are illegal.

Yes it is. 1. What are Suboxone and Subutex?

Subutex and Suboxone are medications approved for the treatment of opiate dependence. Both medicines contain the active ingredient, buprenorphine hydrochloride, which works to reduce the symptoms of opiate dependence.

2. Why did the FDA approve two medications?

Subutex contains only buprenorphine hydrochloride. This formulation was developed as the initial product. The second medication, Suboxone contains an additional ingredient called naloxone to guard against misuse.

Subutex is given during the first few days of treatment, while Suboxone is used during the maintenance phase of treatment.
