I have dreamed of opening a drug rehab for years. Half of my family and an ex are drug addicts, and it disgusts me how some rehabs are like spas and don’t actually teach them how to survive with their addiction and not use. (For the sake of getting to my point I will leave it at that) I am about to start my sophomore year in college and am trying to figure out the education I need to open my own drug rehabilitation center. Part of my demands it be nonprofit, but I will have to see which is ultimately best. I know I need business knowledge and addiction related knowledge. What I have come up with is majoring in sociology and minoring in psychology. Both only taking classes related to deviance, criminology , abnormal behavior, stuff like that. And take any prerequisites for business and then get masters in business administration (MBA).
Does this sound good? Would another route be better, if so what degrees? I would love if I could just go from a bachelors, but I don’t know. Any suggestions would be great, thanks. Please only serious answers. Thanks in advance for all your help.

My sister is 17 and has been in a court ordered drug rehab facility for the past 8 months.
She now gets 12 hours visits away from the facility, and on those visits my mother likes to have her go tanning, to the mall, get nails done, etc. I think that time should be spent going to colleges, the library … something like that so that when she is out she can do something with her life. My mom says this is her “reward” time and has elaborate plans for fun stuff.

Hello – My family is having a hard time with my brother. He is currently living on a $ 500 month unemployment check. His girlfriend and him just broke up and he wants to move home with my parents. Unfortunately, he has been an alcoholic for the past 8 years of his life. My parent’s want to find a rehab center for him before he moves back home. He is 29 years old and drinks a 24 pack of beer every day. Please, my family doesn’t have any money to send him. Is there anywhere we can send him?

He is very lonely and I just don’t know what to do. He goes out and drinks every night and spends all his money on beer and then does not have the money to pay bills. He is a great guy and has 2 GREAT little girls. He is a wonderful father, yet the stupid court says they are best with there mom (thats crap but its a differnt story) althought that is a big reason also why he drinks. Anyways, he really wants to get help and I want to help him. I finally talked him into checking himself into the hospital and he went but they would not take him. Sad huh? So now I don’t know what to do. He does not have money to pay for someplace to help him. He lives in a small town of Michigan City, IN. Like I said he is a great guy but has had a hard life. He feels sad that out of all 6 of us kids he has the worse life. I think he has a good life if he only know how to look at it. I just want to help him out. Is there a website or anything that I can use to find him a good place to get help
He wants help, he talkes to me all the time about it. But the hospital won’t let him check himself in. He tried that.

Don’t worry, you can easily find drug rehabilitation centers in Los Angeles. Aside from rehab centers, you can also find clinics and medical centers. Go to any counseling services in your area so that you will be informed about the treatments available. Good luck! And I hope your family supports your father so that he can recover fast.

Hello my best friend is now is a clinic.
She is in and out for a long time..from cocaine (witch she is using for 7 years) and alcohols..etc, she is taking cocaine every 5 min and a bottle of vodka every 30 min..first I thought it is a joke but it wasn’t.
I am paling to go and look after her, but the problem is now.
What can the clinic do? and if you (or some one you know) ever been in a rehab please tell me what they really do to help you.
