Weird situation: I have a friend who is mandated by court to attend an inpatient rehab program for a variety of reasons. We are very supportive and he will be attending shortly, except he’s been worried because he just found out for a fact that an old “friend” who is also a drug abuser, will be present at the same place. They have some kind of bad history between them. I want my friend to be successful w/o unecessary obstacles, any suggestions?!?

In a California child support situation where the mother has custody and the father is to pay child support but works under the table….how does that work? He could claim he is older, sick/hurt, out of work because of the economy, and is not working. In this case I know he is and spends his money drinking, doing meth, and setting up drug deals for extra cash. Is the system so broke that he will get away with not taking care of his responsibilities?

Hi Folks. I need your help. My sister is an alcoholic and my family and I feel it would be best for her to commit to an in-patient rehab program. She’s already gone to AA meetings and has multiple DUIs. The problem is that we’re on a very tight budget as it is so it’s unlikely that we’ll be able to afford to pay for this. Are there any non-profit in-patient rehab programs in California (particularly bay area / monterey county)? If so, can someone point me in the right direction?

I live by Chicago. My girlfriend works in a banquet hall, an African American woman tried to pay for a graduation party with a LINK card. When my girlfriend told her they didn’t accept it she said well most places do.
How much is this woman getting in welfare that she thinks she can pay off a $ 1000 payment with her LINK card? I don’t have one but I was under the impression it was supposed to be used for food not for a party.

will that mess up or interfere with any loans or FAFSA for school in new york still? The conviction was over spring break so maybe that doesn’t count as while under FAFSA?
