Question by Alexis: Illinois Emancipation Law(s)..?
So I am desperate to move out on my own. I have two bad living conditions with my parents. My stepdad and mom abuse me, and my dad uses dangerous drugs. In these conditions would it be able for me to get emancipated? I turn 16 in one week and I hope to get two jobs very soon as well. If my parents object to me getting emancipation can I still be eligible? Also, would it be possible for me to move in with a 19-year old? I’ve never had experience with living on my own. I feel my safety isn’t guaranteed in the conditions I have to choose from. Again, I’m from Illinois and I’ll be very thankful to whomever can help me.
