If I’m Under 18 in Chicago, IL and a Dr Takes a Urine Sample and Finds Drug Use, Can He Tell Me Parents?

Question by : If I’m under 18 in Chicago, IL and a Dr takes a Urine Sample and finds drug use, can he tell me parents?
I wanna know, if so do the parent’s have to request to know the results? If they have to request it can the Doctor tell them without them requesting to know the results of the test? I know most Doctor’s take the Urine samples to check for tract infections etc. (I wanna be a Doctor) but I am just curious because I been doin Marijuana and I’m afraid my parents will find out.. I don’t know if the whole Patient/Doctor confidentiality thing is how it works here. It’s a normal Physician not a Psychiatrist so it’s not a drug test, but a simple Urine sample.

Yes, they can tell your parents. A doctor is usually obligated to tell parents of any risky behavior their child is involved in, which includes drug use.
