Does This Essay Fit in With This Essay Question?

Question by Hey oh ?: Does this essay fit in with this essay question?
Describe the unique qualities that attract you to the specific undergraduate College or School (including preferred admission and dual degree programs) to which you are applying at the University of Michigan. How would that curriculum support your interests? (500 words maximum)

I wrote a similar response for University of Illinois but I want to make sure it makes sense before I just use the same essay. I’m applying to Michigan’s Kinesiology school.

Illinois’ question was: In an essay of 300 words or less, describe how your past circumstances and experiences (such as your upbringing, community, and/or activities) impacted who you are, your future goals, and your choice of major. If you haven’t decided on a college or major yet, briefly explain your intentions and aspirations for your first year at Illinois.

I was raised in the West side of Chicago near Humboldt Park. I am extremely overweight. I have an addiction to drugs as mild as caffeine and as extreme as cocaine. My left leg is paralyzed. My mother is mute.

I am a balding teenage girl.

I have been shot three times. I broke my ribs in second grade; I cracked my skull in first. I have dyslexia. When I’m nervous, I shake violently.

I don’t know my cultural background. I have no father. My younger brother was recruited in a gang. My twelve year old sister has herpes.

In reality, I was raised in a small suburb forty minutes outside of downtown Chicago and later moved to an affluent city twenty minutes from downtown. I am physically fit, due to my passion for long distance running. I do, indeed, have a minor addiction to coffee. My left shoulder sits higher than my right. My mother says, on a daily basis, to clean my room.

I have voluptuous, thick, curly hair.

I despise the doctor and have been “shot” on many occasions. I have never broken a bone. I won the spelling bee in eighth grade. When I’m nervous, I squeeze my toes.

I eat pita bread and humus. My father runs his own company and I admire him. My nine year old brother riots through the house with a blue light saber. My twelve year old sister still believes in cooties.

While I have lived a relatively fortunate life, a majority have not. I do not believe myself to be superior to those who have not. I do not scoff at those who have not. Rather, I want to help. Thus far, I have not decided on what I will focus my education; but I do know that I want to study a health science.

Whether it be psychology, pharmacy, or physical therapy, I want to help people.

So, does the essay that I have written for U of I make sense to send to University of Michigan as well? If not what could I change or add? Or should I just write a whole new essay?
Well, I actually talked to both of my AP English teachers about the essay for u of I and they thought it was great they made a few corrections and wished me luck. I’m not so much worried about U of I’s essay. Even if it does “hurt” my application, I’m confident in all of my other qualifications. To reiterate, my question was whether or not I could use the essay I wrote for University of Illinois for the essay that the University of Michigan is requiring?
