Question by JayBee: Are we supposed to feel sorry for these people?
Who is the spin-meister behind this story?

If you were a parent who REALLY cared for your children, why would you EVER put them in a situation where they could be separated from you?
This situation is NO DIFFERENT than a parent selling drugs risking they could be busted and sent to prison, thus being separated from their children.
The law is the law – you break the law, you must be prepared to pay the consequence.
Are we going to get sob stories about families separated because dad robbed a bank next?
I am a parent and I would NEVER put my child in that situation…any other opinions on this?
I do fell bad for the children – feel bad that their parents could give a crap about them and are leaving them hung out to dry.
TECHX69: being in this country ILLEGALLY is a crime – hence the term ILLEGAL…and no worries sparky, I am not a criminal so I don’t need to worry about being separated from my children. These people know very well that they could be deported and have made NO EFFORT to get on the path to legal citizenship?
dmann253: yeah, I relate the situation to selling drugs or robbing banks, damn right I do, know why? because they are all illegal activities. you mention parents wanting to do what is best for their family – wel what is wrong with applying for citizenship and doing it THE RIGHT WAY? The government will not deport you if they know you are in the process of becoming a citizen – unless you should commit a crime. but to start off on the wrong foot compromises the future of the ENTIRE family unit – AND THEY KNOW IT. And you mention that these people come form all over, which I don not disagree with – but a great number of them come here with NO CHILDREN – which is made obvious in the story that the children were born here. So what family were they trying to better if it didn’t exist until AFTER they came here ILLEGALLY?
ktmamax3: HOLY CRAP! you hit it right in the soft spot! BRAVO! my point exactly, although mine was not as well defined as yours!

Umm, I think you do feel bad for them but don’t want to admit it. Otherwise you wouldn’t be asking the question. Don’t worry, I know it’s a new emotion, but feeling empathy is perfectly normal.
