How Prevalent Is Meth Use (Like as a Percent of the Population)?
Question by Dollar: How prevalent is meth use (like as a percent of the population)?
I mean like what percentage of the population in say a given state uses it. I mean, i live in NY, and you really could think that every single person west of the mississippi smokes meth. If you see it portrayed in the media or if people talk about it thats how it seems. And enough of the stuff comes in from mexico that alot of people must be getting high on this stuff.
And why do so many people even try it?

MEth’s street value is approximately $ 3,000 a pound
In 1994 the DEA seized 63 meth labs, 879 in 1996 and 1,627 in 1998.
AMny people try it becasue they are curious and it is far cheaper than cocaine; a pound, about the size of a brick of meth is worth about $ 3,000 on the streets while the same amount of coke is worth about $ 11,000 a pound.
