Harrassment,Threats and Emotional Abuse Illinois?

Question by aloulou: harrassment, threats and emotional abuse illinois?
I am being harrassed by a family member.I have asked the calls to stop and it hasnt helped. She still shows up at my door. I am threatened and my freedom i believe is in danger when shes around. she has threatened me that “IM goin down” etc. she left a bag of clothes for me to donate to my local church, and i was going to wash them first, and found a large amount of marijuana in the clothes, called her on it ,told her im flushing it,and I did! She is now very mad at me,she claims she wanted it back instead of it being wasted. I believe she was trying to set me up!She says she couldve got alot of $ for it,so that proves she knew about it. Its gone so im safe now,but it really scared me.I have kids! can anyone offer me advice on how to deal with this….shes making threats all the time. I just want her far away and quit harrrassing me getting me upset.I shouldve took it to the cops, but i was scared to keep it around even a miute after all the threats. what should i do?This woman will try anything.Im a good person, trying to do right. please help, any illinois law info would help alot. i gotta do something or she will eventually succeedin her effort to ruin my family…thank you…also, what is it called what she did ,planting drugs?
also, can you imagine what the church wouldve thought of me if i hadnt caught that….i think that was her plan

Make a police report for either the telephone harassment or her threats. Be sure you make it clear that it is domestic related since she is a family member. Then go to you local family court (if your county has one) or the local court. When you make your police report the officer will give you specific information. You get a emergency Order of Protection. The next time she comes over you call 911. The police will not arrest her at that time unless she is doing something wrong but the will “serve” her the order. They will tell her that you are protected.
If she violates the order after she is served and she is still around when the police arrive she has to be arrested. This is true even if you invited her over. The order is not yours but the judge who issued it. Every time she violates the order and is not arrested yo make a new report. She will be charged with each count upon arrest.
The emergency order is good for 3 months. If she violates it the judge will extend it for a long long time.
That is the law in the State of Illinois
